Herb
has practiced law in South Carolina since 1975. For 18 years
he was with the Columbia, South Carolina firm of Whaley, McCutchen
Blanton and Rhodes. In 1993 he joined Kennedy Covington Lobdell
& Hickman, LLP, based in Charlotte, where he practiced
for 11 years before leaving to become one of the founders
of Hamilton Martens Ballou & Sipe, LLC.
Herb graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1969 with a degree
in Civil Engineering and served as an officer in the Civil
Engineering Corps of the United States Navy. He received his
law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1975.
Herb has a wide range of experience in commercial and construction
law and litigation, products liability, financial services
class action, arbitration and mediation. He has had leadership
roles in a number of civic, charitable and Bar related organizations.
Herb is a certified mediator and arbitrator and has been recognized
